The Problem

In the previous few decades, ties between our generation and technology have grown dramatically. However, some people still do not find themselves technology compatible, which makes their lives miserable & uncomfortable.

Without a proper and intuitive guide, it becomes very difficult for these people to connect with today's technology.

Research

I started my research with a deep understanding of the problem statement and how it impacts users' life. Then I came to know about an NGO called Help Age India, which is trying to solve this problem, with their 4-day program for those people who are facing problems with operating smartphones. There is another platform called TECHEASYHAI.com which has become a startup in this domain. Secondary research over the internet to get a good grasp of users' perspectives to understand more about their background.

Primary Research

I interviewed around 8-9 people individually and asked them around 10-12 relevant questions to get insights into their requirements.

I decided to categorize my users into three sections – Basic, Intermediate and Advanced skill holders which makes it easier to understand the issues they have faced while operating their phones and what future goals they are targeting for themselves.

Qualitative Interviews

User Research along with interviews is quintessential. The complex workflows of the multiple user types and their interactions with one another needed to be laid out in detail. In our case, most of the users come from the age group of 40+ and it also includes those people as well who are not able to operate smartphones easily.

How might we ?

2

How might we better understand the level of user ability to operate smartphones?
How might we build trust between users and guides so they will follow the instructions without any doubt?

1

How might we give ease of understanding?
How might we reduce the anxiety during the learning process?
How might we give them more comfort and ease of understanding?

3

How might we analyze their mistakes and their logical thinking ability?

Lo-Fi Wireframes

Based on the user journey flow, user insights, and research data. I started making low-fidelity wireframes and hand drawings for the main use cases in an effort to put our concepts and data on the displays.

Simple learning interface and clear interactions

We try to keep things as straightforward as we can. You simply select your lesson, and we'll do the rest.

Users may learn more interactively, which will aid them in completing their jobs, with the use of a clear and perfect control system.

Test yourself and learn at your own pace

Continue your lessons and test your knowledge and comprehension by answering MCQs that are interspersed throughout the slides as you go along.

Understanding the step-by-step directions given by the animated instructor makes it simple to learn the entire procedure. You must complete the assignment at your own rate of learning.

Quickly get the feedback

Feedback should be given to users quickly so they may assess their comprehension and where they are lacking.

Project Learnings

Simplicity is the key - As designers, we are frequently enticed by appealing, fashionable, and out-of-the-box designs. But we must never forget the 'why.' The fundamental objective is to understand the user and their issues before creating a design that solves them.
Empathize - As a Designer, you need to understand users: not just their needs, but also their constraints and the context of their situation as a whole.

Thank you
